Quick Start FAQ

The Essentials Of Getting Started With FireGFX.

Which Package Is Best For A Trial

To evaluate the software effectively, it is recommended that the Developer Edition is installed from the unified installer.

The Developer Edition includes a test server for activating alarms without the need for additional hardware.

In the Developer Edition, choose File > New Site and provide a meaningful name for the site when asked.

Once the site is created, click the option to open it in the dialogue that pops up.

In the developer Edition, choose View > Designer to begin building your new site.

When a site is first created, a Home page is created automatically. In the designer, click the background button on the menu bar and select a .JPG image to use for the background.

To add new pages, select the Navigation Tab on the right-hand toolbar, drag a blue link onto your image and give it a meaningful name. A new zoom link is added, and a new zoom page is created.

Navigate through your pages using the tree view at the left. Add or change background images for each page using the method detailed above.

Use the lefthand navigation tree to move to the page you would like to add devices to.

Select the Detectors tab from the toolbox on the right.

Drag and drop a device onto your image and either accept the default address information or provide a new one when prompted.

There is no need to save your changes, they are saved automatically.

Click the Browser button on the menu toolbar to view your new site.

Any Navigation links created should work, and you can view any devices added.

The Developer Edition includes a test server to test device responses without connecting to additional hardware.

Click the Test Server tab at the top of the screen to access the test server.

To initiate an alarm, set the device address information, type in any address text for the device, select an alarm condition and click the Send button.

Your site will respond in the same way as it would if an external alarm has been received.

Switch to the Browser Tab to check your navigation links and devices.
